Sesame Place - the sequel

Our second trip to Sesame Place was even better than last year since this year Nyah was a year older and could enjoy all the water rides. She led the way as we went from ride to ride and decided what we would do the whole visit (aside from eating and nap - those had to be scheduled in by Mommy)

We had spent all day Saturday on the water rides and dry rides even though it was threatening to rain the whole day. We only got about 5 minutes of rain and it was so light. Sunday we had breakfast with Cookie Monster and friends and saw a couple of shows. During the Abby Caddaby show Nyah decided she wanted to be part of the cast and she ran off to climb on stage! Mommy had to waddle after her to bring her back!



The only water ride mommy could go on was Big Bird's Rapids which is really just a lazy river with inner tubes. Nyah had on her life jacket and was sitting with mommy. At one point in the ride Nyah wanted to go switch to Daddy's tube so we moved her over very carefully making sure not to drop her in the water between tubes!

She wasn't quite comfortable so she asked her daddy to move a bit to make space for her legs. Well the little bit of movement was enough to tip the tube and send both Nyah and Aamir head first into the water! Nyah bounced back up within 2 seconds and Aamir had her out of the water about as quickly as she went in but she was screaming! Mommy jumped out of the tube and was in the water at the same time and grabbed Nyah! She calmed down in under a minute since she didn't get hurt - it was just a scare! BUT she refused to go back to Daddy in the tube or in the river at all! She stayed with Mommy sitting on the edge of the tube with Mommy walking in the water till the exit.

Lucky for all this has not affected Nyah's love of the water but she has told Aamir a hundred times since, "Daddy don't dump me in the water ever again!" She was sure to tell the story to anyone she met for at least 2 weeks after the 'incident'. Poor Daddy was so sorry he bought her a bunch of toys from the gift shop before we left! Guilt can get expensive!

That same evening we took Nyah to UNO's for dinner and dessert and Aamir pushed Nyah's nose into the whipped cream on the pie. Nyah didn't miss a beat and sternly told her Daddy "Don't dunk me in the pool ever again and don't dunk me in the dessert ever again either!"
