London

Mommy and Nyah just got back from a 9 day trip to London England where Nyah met her great Nanima and many uncles aunts and cousins for the first time. She was the center of attention being the only baby in the family (in London) and in typical Nyah style, she milked it for all it was worth!

This was also the first time that all 4 generations were together. Nanima, Nani (my Mom), Mommy and Nyah. It was one of the nicest parts of the whole trip!

She had her aunties and uncles eating out of her hands (although she was doing very little eating of her own) and had cartoons, playdoh and bubbles on demand! Not to mention chocolates, cookies and crackers that she was no doubt being fed while I wasn't looking!

The purpose of our trip was to attend my cousin Afshan's wedding, and Nyah was delighted to see the dulhan (bride). She was so excited by all the decorations, people, music and smarties! Not to mention the freedom to run around and cause trouble without attracting too much attention! At one point I found her sneaking smarties from a dish that was 'hidden' from guests!

She tried her hand at being an MC but aside from a great picture her career on the airwaves will not be taking off anytime soon.

She also tried her hand at dandia (an indian dance with sticks). Aside from being too short to join in the fun and not get tripped over, hiding the sticks didn't seem to be a popular game among the other dancers!

She wore her first indian outfit during this wedding - and while it lasted she looked precious! But of course after some time she started complaining that she was itchy so we finally changed her into something more comfortable.

Her favorite game, hide-and-seek, turned out to be a bit of a problem during the wedding as she thought the curtain on the backdrop of the stage was a fun hiding spot and almost pulled the whole thing down! That would have been a great story down the road but would have definitely lessened her and my popularity in the family!

When the hide-and-seek game was no longer an option she decided to sit and hang out with the bride - lucky for her, there didn't seem to be any objections from the groom! (until the family photos)

We took her to some fabulous restaurants but unfortunately, aside from french fries and naan, she was unimpressed by the steak, Chinese and Persian cuisine. She'll definitely look back on this and wonder what was wrong with her!

She learned a new concept in London, privacy. She chose to display her newly learned idea by hiding in her uncle Saahil's room to relieve herself - in her diaper of course. When we found her squatting behind the bed she gave us a smile and said "poops in privacy".
